I like to sip on a nice glass of whiskey when I’m up late working on my passion project—which also happens to be whiskey. Well, alcohol in general. My two brothers and I founded Silver Tree Beer & Spirits. We’re a grain to glass distillery—meaning our supplies come straight from our farm before being distilled. We pride ourselves in handcrafting beer and spirits from the ground up.
About Silver Tree
In 2017 my brothers and I who always found a bond over spirits decided to turn into distillers. The decision was made to help diversify what the 5th generation organic farm had to offer. Instead of just sourcing spirits, we decided to do it the hard way and control the process from planting to bottling to offer a premium handcrafted product. We launched with Down East vodka, a vodka made from a proprietary organic wheat strain they grew on the farm. Over the next few years we have grown to be a fully functional distiller offering vodka, gin and whiskey (on the way). We have growing distribution, so if you’re interesting in trying our products please contact me.
Mission Statement
Silver Tree Beer & Spirits is a farm distillery. We grow sustainable grains and our farming practices sequester carbon from the atmosphere. We are focused on environment first, by growing sustainable organic grains. We want to leave the ground healthier every time we plant than when we harvested. We craft every product with the finest ingredients and our hands touch every part of the process from planting the seeds, harvesting, distilling and putting the cork on the bottle. We are truly “Handcrafted from the ground up”
Brand
Products
We currently have two products on the market, Down East Vodka and Ginny Smith Gin with three labels of whiskey aging away; bourbon, rye and a 4-grain.
Down East Vodka
A smooth vodka with slight citrus and vanilla notes made with our proprietary wheat strain. Pairs perfectly with citrus cocktails and summertime.
Ginny Smith Gin
A citrus forward gin that is balanced nicely with slight botanical notes. Made from the same wheat as our Down East as well as oats to give it a rich texture.
Whiskey Tastings
My background in alcohol.
After we started distilling I turned my focus to learning all I could about the products we are offering on the market. I got consumed in learning all I could about alcohol. Everything from history, distilling practices, grain selection, fermentation, medicinal purposes and ultimately tasting notes.
I found refining my pallet to pick up on complex and unique tasting notes not only fun to study (just had to pour myself a drink), but also that i was quite good at it. After a few years of mastering pallet I decided to test my skills and enrolled in a study program put on by the Global Council of Whiskey Masters in which I was awarded the title of Certified Bourbon Professional. I am still furthering my studies to receive the rare and prestigious title of Whiskey Master. I am also a member of the Stave and Thieves Society headquartered in Louisville Kentucky and a registered Makers Mark Ambassador.
